HCN Success Stories

My initial reason for going into healthcare happened when my grandfather started declining. I helped him for a little before he had to go into a nursing home. He had trouble with medication side effects and weakness in his legs. It felt right to help, but I wanted to do more. So, I became an aide, and I loved it! It felt like I was making a difference in people’s lives. I became an LPN in 2017. Throughout all my experiences working in various roles, I still feel my true calling is hospice. To achieve my full potential within hospice, I needed to return to school to take that next step and earn my RN.

My wife recently graduated from Hondros College of Nursing with her LPN. Her level of understanding of the material is what drew me to Hondros. I felt they did a great job with their PN program, so I could only imagine their ADN program would be even better.

To anyone starting nursing school, it’s not for the faint of heart. Use your instructors as a resource and listen to their nursing experiences, they are a wealth of knowledge. Do not be afraid to ask questions and put yourself out there if you don’t understand. Your understanding could make a difference in your patient’s time of need. Most of all, don’t get discouraged. Keep putting in the effort and you will succeed!
